VPR + Vermont PBS is looking for a marketing and communications leader who can connect audiences with stories that bring people together. Our Audience and Community SVP will help us understand new and existing audiences, so we can better serve them.

This leader will know how to use audience research, marketing, communication and programming tools to create unique user experiences that attract audiences and keep them engaged.

The Audience & Community SVP has a dynamic role within the leadership team, empowering our content creators with the knowledge and tools to better serve audiences, and connecting those audiences to ways to support us.

Experience and the ability to build relationships with many diverse audiences are essential to success in this role.

We offer over 5 weeks of paid vacation, paid FMLA, life insurance, 401K, health, dental and vision plans. The compensation range is $114,400 to $149,000 depending on experience.

Vermont PBS + VPR is looking for a Director of Digital Media to join our team and develop a forward-thinking on-demand programming strategy. Reporting to the Senior VP of Audience + Community, this position will oversee digital efforts across the organization, setting a vision for how to reach our new and existing audiences on new and emerging platforms. This position will work within the Audience and Community team as well as across departments to distribute content with a particular focus on existing and emerging digital media. This position also works closely with IT to pursue the continuous improvement of the technical infrastructure to meet the changing needs of the organization, identify areas of opportunity and plan for the future of experiences to Requirement.

You will be successful in this role if you can leverage your digital experience and develop your skills with a mindset that things can always be optimized, carry the curiosity to try new tactics and are motivated to achieve tangible results.

Vermont PBS is looking for a Media Specialist to be part of the senior monitoring team that brings our educational, news and entertainment programs to our viewers. You will be responsible for the execution of on-air programs. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with technology, eager to learn new things and willing to work with the teams that create the VT PBS broadcast. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with colleagues and audiences, supporting and reinforcing a culture of belonging.

At least one year’s experience in television, radio, database management or a production company required. Must be familiar with digital video formats, broadcast asset workflow, satellite downlinks, closed captioning and digital distribution (web and other media). Must have technical skills in using computers and communicating with others on-site and remotely.

This position is part of the bargaining unit (union) at the rate of pay of $20.00 per hour, 40 hours per week; the schedule includes evening and weekend shifts.

news producer

VPR is looking for a creative, enterprising and thoughtful journalist to produce our hit local news shows. We are looking for someone who is passionate about new ways to engage our audience on air, digitally and through live events.

A producer must have a passion for conversations that deepen Vermonters’ understanding of their communities and empower people and organizations. A producer must also bring a collaborative spirit and be equally adept at breaking news headlines and creating sound-heavy pitch segments.

You have to like the medium of public radio and talk shows, but you don’t need direct broadcast experience. We are looking for at least two years of journalism experience.

We offer compensation of $55-65,000 per year, plus 5 weeks paid vacation, paid FMLA, life insurance, 401K, health, dental and vision plans.

Graphic designer

VPR & Vermont PBS is looking for a Graphic Designer to be the in-house expert on brand composition, typography, color and execution. Projects include, but are not limited to, promotions and advertisements, fundraising materials, social media assets, digital content, on-air brand assets, print materials and the creation of branded material. A strong candidate will have a critical eye, be self-motivated and work collaboratively as part of a larger team.

College degree preferred. Minimum of three years of experience in graphic design. Technical proficiency in the use of Mac and PC computers is essential. A thorough understanding of the Adobe Creative Cloud software suite, including After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is required. A basic understanding of non-linear editing, video codecs and media management software is required.

Remuneration: $24 and more per hour (40 hours/week), depending on experience.
