Businesses in the Bundaberg region took to social media to share the news of their success following the Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce’s Excellence En Blanc awards on Saturday evening.

The annual event showcases businesses in the region and celebrates successes, new innovations and the people who support them.

230 guests attended last night’s event at Bundaberg Multiplex, representing companies from Bundaberg and Childers in a range of industries from hairdressing to tourism and manufacturing to recycling.

Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce Vice President Melissa Brooke said the evening was a huge success and a great opportunity for the business community to come together after a difficult year.

“It was a very beautiful event and such a perfect time to come together with local businesses that have been doing it hard, with the Covid restrictions, border closures and everything in between,” she said.

“It was an evening to celebrate our companies, their successes and give them the recognition they deserve.”

Tanya’s impact recognized at Awards

IMPACT Community Services Executive Director Tanya O’Shea received the President’s Award for her work with the region’s most vulnerable people.

Yale Morgan of the Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce said Tanya is dedicated to improving lives by providing support, training and employment opportunities.

“Under Tanya’s leadership, IMPACT also developed and developed two social enterprises – established to be mutually beneficial by creating jobs and re-injecting significant value into the local economy,” Yale said.

Tanya said she was surprised to receive the award.

“It’s very humiliating, it’s unexpected. It’s important when you live in the community that you contribute… but you don’t do it for any kind of recognition.
