PEI author Marlene Bryenton to be featured in new book Chicken Soup the Soul


CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI — PEI author Marlene Bryenton will be featured for the second time in the popular Chicken Soup for the Soul series.

Bryenton will have his story, Follow Your Dreams, appearing in Chicken Soup for the Soul – Attitude of Gratitude, which will be released on August 16.

To celebrate its release, there will be a book launch at Proude’s Shoe Store in Sherwood on Saturday, August 20, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The book features 101 stories about counting your blessings. The back cover invites readers to focus on gratitude when they feel something is missing in their life.

In 2019 Bryenton’s story Secret Garden was published in Chicken Soup for the Soul – Angels All Around.

She has also written medical-themed children’s books, such as optometry, physiotherapy and dentistry, including Anna’s Pink and Purple Glasses, Jaya’s Magic Wheelchair and The Magic Toothbrush.

In the community, Bryenton is known for her efforts as the volunteer project coordinator of Joseph A. Ghiz Memorial Park, a project she worked on while battling breast cancer.

She is also known for her volunteer work, including as the founder of Friends of the Food Bank, which helps collect donations for food banks in Charlottetown.
